The Journey: From Vision to Resonance
How We Co-Create Your Custom Bead Curtain
A custom commission is a guided process of aligning your space with my craft. I lead you through every technical and aesthetic decision to ensure the final piece fulfills the vision for your dream space while remaining structurally sound.
1. The Vision & Dimensions
The process begins with your physical space. You will provide the dimensions and a photo of the area where the curtain will hang. Most clients begin by referencing a color palette or an example from my gallery that they find meaningful.
2. Collaborative Design
We will remain in close communication via email as the design progresses. I will guide you through the selection of:
-
The Palette: Refining the glass, wood, and acrylic bead tones.
-
The Hardware: Choosing the metal finish for your rod and hooks.
-
The Flow: Deciding on the strand count (density) and strand length to achieve the desired movement.
3. Materials & Pricing
Your quote is all-inclusive. The final price covers the beads, wire, and all metal hardware (rod, hooks, and closed jump rings). Because every piece is bespoke, pricing varies based on:
-
Strand Length & Quantity: The total scale of the curtain.
-
Bead Type & Size: The specific combination of glass, wood, or acrylic used.
4. Structural Wisdom & Safety
Glass and metal carry significant weight, so I manage the technical requirements for a safe installation. I have strict weight requirements for every piece.
-
To ensure safety and a graceful drape, I often recommend incorporating acrylic and wood beads to lighten the overall weight while maintaining a high-end aesthetic.
-
Scale: I typically focus on standard door and window sizes. Oversized pieces are available by request, though these require an extended production timeline.
5. Sample Approval
Once the order is confirmed and materials have arrived, I create a sample strand. I will send a photo for your approval of the bead sequence and color balance before I begin the hand-stringing of the entire curtain.
6. Timeline, Shipping & Return Policies
-
Production: Standard creation takes 3–4 weeks.
-
Shipping: Free Ground Shipping is included for all orders within the US (approx. 1 week).
-
International: International shipping is available; however, the client is responsible for all shipping costs, VAT, and tariffs.
-
Because this is a custom, made-to-measure piece with materials sources specifically for you, all custom orders are final sale once materials are ordered. Please review photos, measurements, and descriptions carefully before purchasing.
